BenQ · AK700ST 4K Short Throw Laser Projector

One-Button 4K Setup.
Built For Every Screen Shape.

You want a 4K projector that doesn't make you earn the perfect picture. The BenQ AK700ST is the easiest-to-install projector in BenQ's golf-simulator-capable lineup — point it at your screen, press one button, and the onboard camera detects the edges and fills them precisely. Auto Screen Fit. Quick Focus. Done. And when you need to project on a curved impact screen, the AK700ST is the only model in this lineup that supports curved screen warping — four matrix options conform the image to any curve without distortion. 4,000 ANSI lumens. True 4K UHD. 95% Rec.709 color (highest in the lineup). 8.4ms input lag for gaming. Built for golf simulation, home cinema, classroom, boardroom, and dual-purpose AV rooms.

Built by BenQ — the world's #1 projector brand for four years running, trusted in homes, boardrooms, classrooms, simulation bays, and commercial installations worldwide. Dedicated golf-simulator projector line since 2021.

Why The AK700ST Stands Apart

Three Things The AK700ST 4K Laser Projector Does That The Others Don't.

What separates the BenQ AK700ST 4K short throw laser projector from the rest of the lineup — and from any other 4K projector at this price.

Auto Screen Fit — One-Button Setup

Built-in camera detects your impact screen edges and fills them perfectly. Press one button on the remote. No measuring, no fiddling, no second person needed. Supports 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, and 1:1 aspect ratios.

Curved Screen Warping — Unique In Lineup

Four matrix options (5×3, 10×5, 15×9, 24×15) conform the image to a curved impact screen with no distortion. The only BenQ golf simulator projector that supports curved-screen geometries directly.

95% Rec.709 + 8.4ms Input Lag

Highest color accuracy in the BenQ golf simulator lineup. 8.4ms input lag at 1080p/240Hz for responsive gaming. eARC 7.1 channel audio. Cinema, Game, HDR10, HLG, and sRGB modes from the remote.

Who The AK700ST Is Built For

You Probably Recognize Yourself In One Of These.

Three buyers we see for the AK700ST — and why one-button setup, curved screen warping, and 4K + 95% Rec.709 matter for each.

Supports 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, and 1:1 aspect ratios. Quick Focus runs from a single remote-button press, with minor manual fine-tuning to finish. Sharp, edge-perfect image in seconds, not minutes. Curved Screen Warping — Unique In BenQ Golf Sim Lineup

The AK700ST is the only projector in the BenQ golf simulator lineup that supports image warping for curved impact screens. Four selectable matrix options (5×3, 10×5, 15×9, 24×15) let you conform the projected image to a curved screen with no geometric distortion — the higher the matrix density, the finer the geometric control. For wide-format or wraparound sim bays built around curved screens, this is the projector that makes them work correctly without external warping hardware.

True 4K UHD + 95% Rec.709 — Highest Color Accuracy In The Lineup

True 4K UHD (3,840 × 2,160) resolution — 8.3 million pixels, four times the detail of Full HD. Critically, the AK700ST delivers 95% Rec.709 color coverage — the highest in BenQ's golf simulator lineup. In simulation, that means fairway grain, bunker sand, rough edges, and green undulation render with the color fidelity courses are actually shot in. For movies and sports, it's cinema-grade color reproduction at this price point. The 30-bit color engine produces 1.07 billion colors across Golf, Cinema, Game, HDR10, HLG, and sRGB modes.

0.69–0.83 Short Throw + 8.4ms Gaming + eARC 7.1

The short throw ratio keeps the projector safely behind the golfer — out of the swing path, clear of shadows. 1.2× motorized zoom adjusts image size from the remote without repositioning. The 102.5% offset minimizes tilt and keystone correction needs. For gaming, 8.4ms input lag at 1080p/240Hz puts it in the elite tier for console and PC use — the fastest projector in the BenQ golf sim lineup. eARC via HDMI delivers 7.1 channel Dolby Atmos passthrough to your soundbar or AV receiver through a single cable. The IP5X sealed laser engine delivers 20,000 hours of zero-maintenance operation.

Picking between AK700ST, LK830ST, and AH700ST?

The AK700ST is the right choice if you want the smartest, easiest setup or you're building around a curved impact screen — it's the only one with Auto Screen Fit AND curved warping. The LK830ST ($2,499) is the right choice if you need ultra-short throw (0.5 ratio) for a tight room or IP6X-sealed laser for high-traffic commercial use. FAQ

BenQ AK700ST — Frequently Asked Questions

The questions you'd ask us on the phone, answered here too.

How does Auto Screen Fit work?+
The AK700ST has a built-in camera that detects the edges of your impact screen — provided there's at least a 2.5-inch (6 cm) black border around the projection area for the camera to see. Press one button on the remote, and the projector adjusts the image to fill the screen at optimal resolution. Supports 16:9, 16:10, 4:3, and 1:1 aspect ratios automatically. Works with white and gray impact screens.
Can I use curved screen warping and Auto Screen Fit at the same time?+
No — warping and Auto Screen Fit are mutually exclusive. When warping is active, Auto Screen Fit, Quick Focus, Corner Fit, and Keystone are all unavailable. Warping is also unavailable when Screen Fill is set to 16:10, 4:3, or 1:1. For curved screens, use one of the four warping matrix options (5×3, 10×5, 15×9, or 24×15) and set up the alignment manually.
What else can I use the AK700ST for besides golf simulation?+
Plenty. Reference 4K home theater (95% Rec.709, HDR10, HLG, eARC 7.1 channel Dolby Atmos), classroom and lecture environments, corporate boardrooms, console and PC gaming (8.4ms input lag at 1080p/240Hz), themed entertainment, retail showcases. Cinema, Game, and HDR picture modes are available alongside Golf Mode, switched from the remote.
Is it compatible with golf simulator software?+
Yes — the AK700ST connects via HDMI and works with any simulator software that outputs to a display, including E6 Connect, GSPro, TGC 2019, RSG Club, Full Swing Golf, and others. Golf Mode is a color calibration preset that works independently of your simulator software.
How far does it need to be from the screen?+
0.69–0.83 short throw ratio. A 100" screen needs 5–6 feet; a 120" screen needs 6–7.2 feet; a 150" screen needs 7.5–9 feet. The 1.2× motorized zoom adds flexibility within these ranges from the remote.
Does the laser ever need replacing?+
No. The IP5X-sealed laser engine is rated to 20,000 hours with no lamp replacement, no brightness degradation, no warm-up time. The sealed design requires no filter cleaning. It's also the most energy-efficient 4K projector in the BenQ golf simulator lineup at 192W typical.
What's the warranty?+
3-year manufacturer warranty from BenQ. Swing Sphere is an authorized BenQ dealer, so we handle warranty claims directly. Call (833) 796-4777 if anything ever needs attention.
Is financing available?+
Yes. Shop Pay Installments lets you split the purchase into monthly payments at checkout with no hidden fees.
